Last year, the Staff Selection Commission had announced 6144 MTS and 3439 Havaldar vacancies in CBIC and CBN.

Eligibility

here are three major criteria that a candidate is required to fulfill to be eligible for the SSC MTS Exam. Before filling out the applications for SSC MTS Exam, the candidates must know the minimum required SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria in terms of nationality, education qualification, and age limit. Let’s have a look at all these three criteria:

Nationality/Citizenship

A candidate is required to be

  1. A citizen of India
  2. Subject of Nepal
  3. Subject of Bhutan
  4. Tibetan Refugee
  5. Person of Indian Origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Afghanistan, Kenya, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam.

Educational Qualification

A candidate is required to pass Matriculation (10th class) or its equivalent Exam from a recognized State Board, University or Institute to be eligible to apply for SSC MTS Exam. There is no minimum percentage requirement in class 10th.

Age Limit

The age limits for both SSC MTS and Havaldar posts as per the Recruitment Rules of various User Departments are:

Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS)- A candidate must be a minimum of 18 years of age and must not exceed 25 years of age.

Havaldar Age Limit- A candidate must be of a minimum of 18 years of age and must not exceed 27 years of age.

Apart from the pre-mentioned Age Requirement, candidates belonging to reserved categories are given age relaxation as per Government Rules.

Selection Process

The eligible candidates for SSC Multi Tasking Staff recruitment will be shortlisted based on three stages. A candidate needs to qualify in each stage with marks more than the cut-off announced. The three stages to be cleared are as below-

Stage 1- Paper-1 (Objective)

Stage 2- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST) (only for the post of Havaldar)

  1. Stage 1- Written examination (Computer Based)
  2. Stage 2- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  3. Stage 3- Physical Standard Test (PST)
  4. Stage 4- Medical Test

Exam Pattern

SSC MTS 2025 will be examined in 2 different levels: Paper-1, PET/PST (only for havaldar). Paper 1 is an online exam that is an objective multiple-choice question type.

SSC MTS Havaldar Paper-1 Exam Pattern

The revised SSC MTS Paper 1 Exam Pattern has been shared by the officials last yea. The Paper 1 pattern is the same for both posts There will be a Computer-Based Examination which is divided in 2 Sessions. Session-I and Session-II and both the Sessions will be mandatory to be attempted. There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Session 2 and there will be no negative marking in Session 1.

Note: The SSC MTS written exam is divided into 2 sections. There will be no negative marking in Session 1 and there shall be a negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer in Session 2.
