Vacancy

Last year, 17727 vacancies were released for Group B and C posts for various graduate-level posts and in the coming year also we can expect a huge number of vacancies.

Eligibility

Not everyone can appear in the SSC CGL Exam, as the commission has set parameters for minimum eligibility criteria including education qualifications, age limit, and nationality. As per this year's notification, the SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria are as follows-

Nationality

A candidate must be a citizen/subject of either India/Nepal/Bhutan/a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.

Educational Qualification

For Junior Statistical Officer (JSO)- Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with a minimum 60% in Mathematics in Class 12th or in any discipline with Statistics as one of the subjects in graduation.

For Statistical Investigator Grade-II- Graduation Degree from any recognized University with Economics Statistics or Mathematics as a compulsory or Elective Subject.

For Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute with a minimum of one year of research experience in any recognized university or recognized Research Institution.

For Remaining posts- Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University.

Age Limit

The candidates must fall in the age group of 18 to 32 years. Candidates can check the post-wise age limit by checking the table below.

Selection Process

Stage 1 Tier-I: Computer-Based Examination (Qualifying in nature).

Stage 2 Tier-II: Paper I (Compulsory for all posts), Paper II for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.

  1. All candidates who have applied successfully for the SSC CGL exam, will be assigned Roll numbers and Admit Cards for appearing in the Computer-Based Examination (Tier-I).
  2. Based on the marks scored in Tier-I, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in Tier-II Examination.
  3. Separate cut-offs will be released separately for Paper-II of Tier-II (i.e. for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO), and for Paper-I of Tier-II (i.e. for all other posts).
  4. Tier-II Examinations will be conducted for all the candidates qualified in Tier-I.
  5. In Tier II, all the candidates will be required to appear in Paper-I and Paper-II. However, only specific candidates shortlisted for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) will be required to appear in Paper-II.
  6. The final selection list will be prepared on the basis of marks scored by the candidates solely in Paper 2.

Syllabus
